Do you have a morning routine? Something that gets you out the door with minimal fuss?
Most of us have some kind of morning routine. Even if we are more ‘go with the flow’ type people, we tend to do things in a similar order every day.
While we don’t yet need to leave the house first thing in the morning most days, we do have a morning routine.
Our morning starts between 5:30am and 6am. Tea (or milk) in bed, check emails, shower then eggs for breakfast while DH gets ready for work. Around 7:30am we put on a load of washing, wave goodbye to dad and play for an hour before I do some housework.
A routine helps our morning run smoothly. It also provides a consistent framework for the little fella – he knows that while I’m cooking breakfast, it’s time for him to play by himself, and that I will play with him after dad has gone to work. And quite often, as the car is pulling out of the driveway, he’s already saying:
‘Mummy play cars now.’
