Spoil mum this Mother’s Day with a delicious breakfast in bed or a relaxed brunch at home for a fraction of the cost of a cafe breakfast.

Like many Aussies, I love a good cafe breakfast. Smashed avo or a corn fritter stack and a flat white? Yes please!
But the cost? Yeah, nah!
It’s well over $100 to take the family out for breakfast, which doesn’t fit our budget. But…you can make the same delicious breakfasts at home for a teensy tiny fraction of the cost of eating at a cafe.
And sure, it’s not quite the same. You have to do the cooking and clean up the mess (don’t make mum do it on Mother’s Day!), but it means you can enjoy a fancy breaky without the cost.
And if getting out of the house is the goal? Package it all up and take it to the beach. When we have to-go breakfasts, our favourites include savoury muffins or ham and cheese croissants served with yoghurt and fruit.
And coffee for Mum!
Below are some breakfast and brunch ideas to get you inspired.
